Swagatam to my Shiv Yogi Dhruvaji blog.
Here I will be sharing the profound realizations from my daily practice of the continuous Shiva Mantra Ajapa Japa Yoga, rapid involuntary mental repetition of the soothing and loving Shiv Mantra, Shiv, Shiv Shiv Shiv, always going on in my heart chakra.
The heart chakra is floating in the center of the space inside the body, on the same horizontal plane of the middle, not bottom of the chest.
It is vertically in the center of a vertical line, drawn from the middle of the two neck collarbones to the xiphoid process, located at the bottom center of the sternum, breastbone.
The primary requirement, the single most important requirement for this practice of Shiva Mantra Ajapa Japa Yoga, SMAJI, in my experience of over 40 years of yoga, is to somehow get deep sleep every single night, not just long hours of sleep.
If you don’t get deep sleep during even one night, the involuntary, rapid, and continuous mental repetition of the Shiv Mantra becomes impossible during the next day as the mind is so noisy and tired.
Trying even the most powerful techniques to fix this lack of deep sleep simply won’t work, as deep sleep is the paramount and irreplaceable core foundation of our inner depth and quality of life in the waking state.
The most elusive yet important thing in this world is deep sleep, and in turn, a noisy mind due to a lack of deep sleep does not let us enter into deep sleep next time.
So it becomes a vicious cycle in my experience.
If my mind enters into such a vicious cycle, I have no other option left than to break it with a sleep deprivation technique, which has worked for me every single time for the past 40 plus years.
It should be used sparingly though, and may not be for everyone.
I am just sharing it if it will be useful to someone.
The deep sleep technique I use.
I stay awake as long as I can, and only then I go to sleep.
Due to that sleep deprivation, the mind is forced to directly and automatically enter into the most desired slow-wave deep sleep, and the entire four-part sleep cycles of 96 minutes each are repetitively completed perfectly in a few hours, with the deepest relaxing and flushing of the conscious mind into the subconscious mind.
This bypasses all the imbalances in the body and mind which were stopping me from going into deep sleep in the first place, and thus it works every single time.
As a consequence, it leaves me so deeply refreshed and mentally ready for my profoundly blissful festival of the Shiv Mantra Ajapa Japa Yoga for the entire next 24 hours, even while talking with others, walking, eating, sitting, reclining, etc.
The meanings of the Shiv Mantra.
SH resonates in the crown, third eye, and throat chakras, promoting universal knowledge, insight, and expression respectively.
I vibrates in the heart space, fostering love, empathy, forgiveness, and compassion.
